Getting started

From an empty space to a site that reads its pages from Obelism Content, in Next.js, React Router, on Shopify Oxygen, in Astro, plain HTML or through a coding agent.

Sign in at content.obelism.studio with your Obelism account. Content lives in a space (one site or project) of your organization, in one of three environments. Work in develop until the site is ready.

  1. Create a space on the dashboard, and set its locales under Settings.
  2. Model the content under Content model: a page type (with a title and a blocks field), and a few block types for the parts pages are built from. See the content model.
  3. Write a page under Content, with the slug home, and publish it.
  4. Create tokens under Settings → API tokens: a delivery token for the site, a preview token for drafts, and a management token for the CLI.
  5. Connect your site, following the guide for your stack:

Then, when the site runs:

  • Set the environment's preview URL (Settings) to where it runs, and editors can edit it in place.
  • Add a webhook, so the site rebuilds or revalidates when something is published.
  • Promote the model and content to production, and repeat steps 4 and 5 with production's tokens.
