# Connect an agent (/docs/getting-started/agents)

Obelism Content has an MCP server at `https://content.obelism.studio/mcp`. Its tools are the [agent API](/docs/api/agents): organizations and spaces, the content model, entries, assets, promotion, API tokens and webhooks. It signs in with OAuth, so there is no key to copy: the first time, your browser opens and you allow the connection. The dashboard's **Agents** page has the address and the Claude Code command, what an agent may do, and the apps connected to Content.

## The Obelism plugin for Claude [#the-obelism-plugin-for-claude]

In Claude Code, the Obelism plugin connects Content, [improve](https://improve.obelism.studio/docs/api/agents/mcp) and numbers at once, with skills for the jobs that span them: [importing a page from Claude Design](/docs/guides/claude-design), connecting a site, and running an A/B test on a block.

```
/plugin marketplace add Obelism/sdk
/plugin install obelism@obelism
```

On claude.ai, an Organization Owner can add the same marketplace under Organization settings → Plugins. The plugin's source is in [Obelism/sdk](https://github.com/Obelism/sdk/tree/main/plugin).

## Let the agent set itself up [#let-the-agent-set-itself-up]

Paste this into your coding agent:

```
Fetch and follow the instructions to set me up for Obelism Content from https://content.obelism.studio/getting-started.md
```

The instructions there cover Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and any other MCP client, and ask before touching your agent's instructions file. The dashboard's home page has the same prompt in a new space, ready to copy.

## Or add it by hand [#or-add-it-by-hand]

```sh
# Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user obelism-content https://content.obelism.studio/mcp
# Codex
codex mcp add obelism-content --url https://content.obelism.studio/mcp
codex mcp login obelism-content
```

In Claude (web and desktop) and other apps with connectors, add a custom connector with the URL `https://content.obelism.studio/mcp`.

## What it can do [#what-it-can-do]

The tools run as you, with your [role](/docs/guides/roles) in the organization: they can do no more than you can in the dashboard. A read-only grant gets only the reading tools. Disconnect an app under [Connected apps](https://www.obelism.studio/account/connected-apps) on your Obelism account.

- **Model content**: read the content types, change one, or plan and apply the whole model as a file.
- **Write content**: create entries, save drafts, publish, move, restore a version, upload assets.
- **Start a site**: `getProjectSetup` gives the `npx @obelism/content init` to run in the site's repository.
- **Connect a site** in develop and staging: create a delivery or preview token, a webhook, send it a test and check it got a 2xx, and set the preview URL.

<Callout type="info">
	In production, an agent can read tokens, webhooks and settings, but not create
	them: it tells you what to add under Settings instead. Token values and
	webhook secrets are shown once; an agent puts them in an untracked environment
	file and never repeats them.
</Callout>
